  • Go to the SASSA online portal or https://srd.sassa.gov.za/sc19/status
  • Enter your 13-digit South African ID number 
  • Enter the cell phone number you used when applying for the grant
  • Click on “Submit” and your application status will display on the screen
  • The status will show the progress of your application, whether it is pending, approved, declined, or any other status  
  • Below the status, an explanation is provided about what each status means and what you need to do
  • If your status is pending or declined, log in to your account and update any incorrect details or submit any required documents
  • For approved applications, regularly check payment dates and ensure your banking details are correct 
  • You can also view past statuses by selecting a previous month from the drop-down menu

SASSA SRD Grant Eligibility  

To receive the R350 SRD grant, you must successfully complete the application process and meet the eligibility criteria set by SASSA.

SASSA Grant Types

South Africa offers various social grants administered by the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) to support its citizens in need. 2. Older Person’s Grant

The old age grant supports men and women over 60 years old with no other income source. Applicants cannot reside in a state institution and must pass a means test. The grant amount is either R2,090 or R2,110 per month, depending on the beneficiary’s age.

3. Disability Grant

The disability grant provides income support to people between 18-59 years old with a mental or physical disability preventing employment for over 6 months. A medical assessment confirms disability status. The monthly amount is up to R2,090 on a sliding scale.

4. War Veteran’s Grant

Veterans who fought in World War 2 or the Korean War and are over 60 years or disabled can apply for this grant. Recipients cannot live in a state institution or receive other grants, and must pass a means test. The monthly grant is R2,110.

5. Child Support Grant

This grant assists parents/primary caregivers struggling to provide for children under 18 years. Applicants must be South African residents and the biological parent or primary caregiver. The grant is R510 per month, plus a R250 top-up, totaling R760.
